Mary R. Blanton
Mary Blanton grew up in Alexandria, VA, and received her B.A. from Wake Forest University in 1972. She received her law degree from Georgetown University in 1981. Mary worked part time while raising four children and returned to full-time law practice with Ted in 1990 when they opened their own law firm. She practiced solo from while Ted served as a District Court Judge.
Mary has been a N.C. Board Certified Specialist in Family Law since 2001 and is also a certified family Financial mediator and collaborative law attorney. Her primary area of practice is family law, which includes separation, divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, and property distribution. Mary also prepares pre-marital and post-marital contracts and handles adoptions, wills and estates, and real estate matters.

Theodore (Ted) A. Blanton
Ted Blanton was born in Albemarle, NC and raised in Salisbury. He received his B.A. from Saint John's College in Annapolis, MD in 1975. and law degree from Georgetown University in 1981. After working on the staffs of several US Senators, he returned to Salisbury in 1983 to practice law. Ted and Mary opened their own law firm in 1990.
Ted served as a Rowan County District Court Judge for 8 years (1994-2002) and then returned to private practice. His primary areas of practice include criminal defense law, motor vehicle offenses, personal injury litigation, civil litigation, and real property law. Ted also prepares wills and other estate planning documents and handles real estate closings.
