Mary Blanton grew up in Alexandria, Virginia. She graduated from Wake Forest University and Georgetown Law and has lived and worked in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia, as a teacher, college professor and legislative assistant/law clerk before moving with her family to Salisbury, NC in 1983. She has practiced law in this community ever since. She and Ted have raised four children, all grown and one married. She has served on a number of civic and church boards and organizations. Mary enjoys reading, gardening, hiking and skiing in her spare time.
